Human Trafficking 101
Human trafficking is the sum of act, means, and purpose.
- Act: To induce, recruit, harbour, transport, provide, or obtain individuals for the purpose of trafficking
- Means: The use of force, fraud, or coercion to induce people into the commercial sex trade. Minors induced into commercial sex are considered human trafficking victims regardless of whether these means have been used.
- Purpose: Commercial sex (sex trafficking) or labour/service (labour trafficking)
