"I see you" campaign
We live in a day where we spend more time looking down onto a screen, interacting through a digital interface than actually looking at one another. We’re more connected, yet studies show that we’re lonelier than ever. We’ve become more aware of global issues, yet we’re desensitized to subtleties and needs right in front of our noses.
We need to look up and notice others around us. We need to put down our phones and electronic devices and really see one another. We need to dare to care and say ‘I see you’. 'I see that things aren't well with you, but I see your worth. I see your value.'
‘I see you’ is a campaign that brings awareness to human trafficking in Canada by helping people recognize the signs of sexual exploitation. With 75% of victims under 25 years of age, and a quarter of those being minors, what could be signs of sexual exploitation are sometimes overlooked or just ignored.
“It was people saying that ‘I see you and I care’ – that was the thing, I think that turned things around for me most”. A Survivor
Join the ‘I see you’ movement. We challenge you to look up and notice others around you. Reach out to them and say ‘I see you’. Dare to care.
